Greetings from Texas!
THANK YOU to everyone who played a part in carrying out our annual convention. A special thank you to the sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and volunteers who helped put together a wonderful convention at Barton Springs Resort, and of course, “Thank you” to all of the convention attendees. Convention expectations were surpassed with over 300 current and new members participating. Everyone had a wonderful time at the Barton Springs Resort in Austin, Texas; it turned out to be an excellent convention location. The two and a half days were packed with a variety of informative and educational programs. Old friends were reunited and new friendships were formed as members were able to network professionally and personally with industry professionals. Attendees found the time to enjoyed cocktails, playing rounds of golf, soaking up the sun at the pool and enjoying the spa facilities. In spite of the in-depth educational programs, everyone seemed to find the time to relax and enjoy the ambiance together.
One of the most enjoyable and probably memorable events was the Live Auction and the professional auctioneer sponsored by our good friends at Drillinginfo. A huge thank you goes out to all of those who donated items for the auction. The auction broke last year’s record by bringing in over $19,000 which will go into the NARO Texas legislative fund. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!
I want to thank all the convention speakers for providing educational and informative presentations. Speakers focused on the positive changes forthcoming in our industry with natural gas being seen as the new resource. We need to continue to keep a watchful eye on everything happening in the state of Texas, throughout the nation and worldwide.
